ACF ACADEMY is a pan-African program aimed at professionalizing and strengthening art professions in Africa. It is an incubation and support program for young visual artists and cultural managers, established by the African Culture Fund (ACF). Its objective is to stimulate and enhance the competitiveness of African arts professionals through the organization of artistic training camps (Boot camps), artistic creation residencies, and capacity-building in cultural management across five (05) centers of artistic and cultural excellence located in different regions of Africa: North Africa (Tunisia), Central Africa (Yaoundé), West Africa (Mali), Southern Africa (Johannesburg), and East Africa(Seychelles and Kenya).

The first cohort of the program focuses on artistic and cultural centers in West Africa (Mali) and North Africa (Tunisia). The current call concerns the first BOOT CAMP dedicated to young cultural managers from Central Africa.

Within this framework, on June 15, 2023, ACF launched the 4th Call for Applications for ACF ACADEMY, specifically for BOOT CAMP #4 aimed at Central Africa. The program is organized in partnership with the Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM) and Arterial Network Cameroon, with the aim of selecting 15 young cultural managers from West Africa (08 females and 07 males) to participate in BOOT CAMP #4 scheduled to take place in Yaoundé from August 07 to 12, 2023.
After the application deadline on July 15, 2023, a total of 59 applications were received from 05 countries in Central Africa (Angola, Cameroon, Congo, DR Congo, Chad).
The selection process occurred in three stages: the registration and review of the application files to create a refined pool of candidates, the pre-selection and evaluation, and the final selection conducted by an independent jury.

The selection panel, comprising a representative from IKAM (Mr. Moussa Boubacar DIARRA), a representative from ACF (Mr. Mohamed DOUMBIA), and a representative from Arterial Network (Mr. Fernand Ghislain Ateba Ossende), met virtually on July 24, 2023, to finalize the selection and review the applications. As a result of the deliberation, 15 candidates were selected from 05 Central African countries (08 females and 07 males).
The African Culture Fund expresses its gratitude to the Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM) and Arterial Network Cameroon for their technical support.
