ART OF AFRICA GALLERY

ACF ACADEMY | North Africa | Visual Arts The Boot Camp Training #2 dedicated to visual arts concluded on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the premises of our partners at 32 BIS Art Space in Tunis. Thematic workshops, meetings with international art experts, and an open studio were part of the program. We extend our warm thanks to Swiss Cooperation in Mali and 32 BIS in Tunisia for their support in the implementation of this training. 

ACF ACADEMY | North Africa | Visual Arts The last week of activities of Boot Camp Training #2 is shaping up well at the premises of 32 BIS Art Space in Tunis. Participants have had the opportunity to benefit from:

  • A meeting with the renowned art critic, curator, and writer from Cameroon, Simon Njami.
  • Several thematic workshops with the Franco-Tunisian visual artist Amel Bennys and the Egyptian art curator Mariam Elnozahy.

ACF ACADEMY | North Africa | Visual Arts The second week of activities of Boot Camp Training #2 in Tunis, Tunisia, was filled with learning and creative encounters, including:

  • Thematic workshops with international visual artist Amel Bennys
  • An Open Studio of the participants
  • Panel discussions with international art experts (Cécilia Muriel, Mariam Elnozahy, Dora Dalila, Alicia Knock, Fatma Kilani)
  • Meeting with the renowned artist Abdoulaye Konaté (a member of the ACF Board)

ACF ACADEMY | North Africa | Visual Arts The thematic workshops of Boot Camp Training #2 in Tunis, Tunisia, continue with an Open Studio of the participants and a meeting with our international art experts (Cécilia Muriel, Amel Bennys), with the participation of the renowned artist Abdoulaye Konaté (a member of the ACF Board). Congratulations to the contemporary art space 32 BIS in Tunis!  

ACF ACADEMY | North Africa | Visual Art  First week of activities of Boot Camp Training #2 in Tunis, Tunisia. The program for this week includes panel discussions with international experts such as Mr. Jean Loup PIVIN (France), Mr. Ibrahima MAHAMA (Ghana), and an artistic workshop led by Mr. Ismail BAHRI (France – Tunisia).

ACF ACADEMY – BOOTCAMP 2: VISUAL ARTS | NORTH AFRICA  The opening ceremony of Bootcamp #2 of the Continental Capacity Building Program, ACF ACADEMY, in the North Africa stage (Tunisia), was held this Monday, July 4th, at the premises of our partners at 32 BIS Art Space in Tunis. It was an opportunity to interact with the selected visual artists for this training, coming from Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, and Mali.

ACF ACADEMY – Cultural Management, West Africa.  Day 10 concludes the Boot Camp Training with a certificate awarding ceremony of Kôrè-Quality by the renowned sculptor from Burkina Faso, Mr. KY Sidiki, and the esteemed painter Mr. Abdoulaye KONATE from Mali, in the presence of ACF Board President, Mr. Mamou DAFFE, on December 4, 2021, in Ségou.

ACF ACADEMY – Cultural Management, West Africa.  The activities of the Boot Camp Training for the first cohort of 20 young cultural managers from West Africa have started, with the module “Structuring and Governance of Cultural Organizations” led by Mr. Bourama DIARRA and Mr. Mohamed DOUMBIA, on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the Savane Residence in Ségou. A program of the African Cultural Fund (ACF), supported by Swiss Cooperation in Mali.

Highlights of the ACF ACADEMY program

 

ACF-ACADEMY is a Pan-African program for the professionalization and strengthening of artists and cultural managers in Africa. It is an initiative of the African Culture Fund for Culture that aims to stimulate and strengthen the competitiveness of African arts professionals through the organization of arts training camps and residencies for artistic creations and capacity building in cultural management in the five (05) regions of Africa. For the first cohort, the African Culture Fund will set up an incubation and coaching program for young visual artists and cultural managers in the centers of artistic and cultural excellence in North Africa (Tunisia) and West Africa (Mali).
