The “On going” project by Lorin SOOKOOL | (SOUTH AFRICA) SOFACO 4 Call

Project description:

“On going” is a dance performance that deals with the global experience of grief through personal narrative and expression specific to the local cultural and socio-political context.

Through her practice, the artist suggests that the creative journey and the life journey become two intertwined entities that do not need to be separated. Maternity, bereavement and the act of working are inseparable experiences. Her way of living and bearing witness to her own grief is reflected in the process of creating and witnessing her work – like a meditation, the artist invites the observer to observe the observed.
